The Wells-class starship was a Federation Starfleet timeship used in the 29th century.

Special Features and Capabilities[]

It was capable of both transwarp and temporal communication, making use of transwarp signals and temporal transmissions respectively, to establish real-time communication throughout the universe and the timeline. Phasers, save for 29th century "phasers" (phased chroniton beams), could not even penetrate its navigational deflector.

Propulsion Systems[]

T3-Drive/TTT-Drive[]

The temporal transphasic transwarp drive allows for infinite velocity, making it possible to go anywhere in the universe in the time it takes for the drive to kick in. This drive leaves no distortions in subspace in its wake and as such no warp trail as is required of timeships by the Temporal Prime Directive in order to mitigate any negative effects of time travel. It is also capable of warp and quantum slipstream speeds, but "Tempus Fugit". TCARS indicates that this drive was inspired by Voyager's EMH.

Temporal Displacement Drive[]

The 31st century refit used a Temporal Displacement Drive. This was deemed safer than temporal rifts which posed a large security risk, even destroying the Sol system in one alternate timeline.
