The USS Yorktown (registry NCC-1717-A) is the second Federation vessel to bear that name. It was commissioned during the 25th century.

Change of CommandEdit

For several years, the captaincy of the Yorktown belonged to renown Arthur Rosslyn. But his promotion to the rank of admiral left the captaincy in doubt, until up-and-coming Amanda Steele was given command. When Rosslyn defected from the Federation, he killed her and the rest of the crew, replacing them with his Augments and led the ship in attacks against the Federation.

DestructionEdit

The Yorktown-A was heavily damaged when it encountered the USS Enterprise-C, but repairs were made and it continued its swath of destruction. The ship finally met its destruction at the hand of the USS Templar under the command of Tristan Marshal. Though Rosslyn was not on the ship when it was destroyed, he was killed shortly thereafter.

Alternate RealityEdit

In the anti-time reality created by Q, the Yorktown was mentioned briefly. Like with the Galaxy X-class, this was something of a revelatory disclosure, since it portrayed future events as they might occur.
