The USS Marduk is a Starfleet vessel commanded by Captain Bronok Zell, acting as flagship to Admiral Amnell Kree, commanding officer of the Marduk Carrier Battle Group. She is a prototype pocket carrier based on the Prometheus-class.

History[]

Construction[]

The Marduk is named for the the ancient Mesopotamian deity Marduk.

The Marduk was in preproduction in 2400. Then-Rear Admiral Amnell Kree participated in its design in her capacity as chief of the Advanced Tactics Research Office at Starfleet Headquarters.

The Marduk was intended to be the lead ship of a new class of light carrier for surgical strikes, the Marduk-class fast attack carrier. However, budget cuts led to the project's cancellation.

Starfleet service[]

In 2408 Bronok Zell was assigned as the captain, and the Marduk was made the flagship of a carrier battle group under Admiral Kree.

Technical data[]

The Marduk is based on the Prometheus-class chassis, but features an expanded hangar bay instead of multi-vector assault mode. The hangar is partially accommodated by a bulkier aft hull and wider-spread nacelles.

Behind the scenes[]

The Marduk was created by StarSword-C using Star Trek Online's Foundry editor. She appears in the mission "Bait and Switch", which StarSword-C's story Bait and Switch is a novelization of.

She was created using the saucer and nacelles of a Prometheus-class Multi-Vector Advanced Escort, but the hull and pylons of a Phoenix-class.
