The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-J) was a Federation Universe-class multi-mission explorer starship active during the 26th century. It led Federation forces in the Battle of Procyon V, the final battle in the war against the invading Sphere Builders.
History[]
The Enterprise-J participated in the historic Battle of Procyon V, wherein the forces of the Federation successfully drove the Sphere Builders back into their trans-dimensional realm. In 2154, as Captain Jonathan Archer of the Enterprise (NX-01) was preparing to undertake a suicide mission to destroy the Xindi weapon in the Delphic Expanse, Temporal Agent Daniels transported Archer to the Enterprise-J to witness the battle, while the vessel was in a trans-dimensional disturbance. It was Daniels' hope that Archer could be convinced to abandon his suicide mission and attempt to make peace with the Xindi, informing Archer that, without him, the Federation would never come into existence and the Sphere Builders would remain unopposed. Archer was unconvinced, however, and demanded that Daniels return him to his own time.
The Enterprise was protected during the Battle of Procyon V by a fleet of 31st century Ouroboros-class escorts and five Alpha Quadrant Alliance ships from the year 2410. Captain Pavel Chekov led the mission to destroy the command sphere from the Enterprise. With each successful destruction of the sphere, the increasingly desperate Sphere Builders changed the timeline to bring in more of their allies from the Temporal Liberation Front. Daniels provided temporal assistance, and the combined Federation fleet defeated the incoming waves of Sphere Builders, Krenim, Na'kuhl, and Vorgons, destroying the command sphere and closing all temporal portals. All forces returned to their respective home eras.

In the Pioneerverse, the Enterprise-J was an Independence-class Federation battleship, launched in 2562, under the command of Captain James Raymonds. It was the first ship of its class. After being designed in 2554, several flaws led to the ships construction only commencing in 2558. (PIO: "On a Knife Edge")
