Soleta was a half-Vulcan, half-Romulan Starfleet officer in the 24th century.
Early Childhood[]
Soleta was born in 2337, on the Vulcan colony world of Cor Caroli IX. From a Vulcan mother and a Romulan father. She did not know of her real parentage until later in life.
Starfleet Academy[]
In 2357, Soleta enrolled at Starfleet Academy and during her time there, formed a tight circle of friends with her roommate Cadet Tania Tobias, and fellow cadets Mark McHenry, Zak Kebron and Worf.
Starfleet career[]
Upon graduation in 2361, Soleta was assigned to the USS Aldrin, along with Worf and Tania Tobias.
In 2371, Soleta began teaching classes at Starfleet Academy. After the fall of the Thallonian Empire, Starfleet sent the USS Excalibur to provide aid and stability to the region. Given her experience on Thallon, and the personal recommendation of Spock, Soleta was reassigned by Commander Seth Goddard as Excalibur's Science Officer. She served on the Excalibur under the command of Captain Mackenzie Calhoun until its destruction in 2376. When the Galaxy-class USS Excalibur-A was launched in mid-2376, Soleta resumed her duties as science officer. In the same year, her Romulan heritage was discovered and she resigned from Starfleet.
In 2381, Soleta was reinstated as a Lieutenant Commander by Starfleet Commander-in-Chief Leonard James Akaar at the recommendation of Ambassador Spock, Admiral Jean-Luc Picard and Captain Calhoun to aid in the Vulcan-Romulan Reunification efforts. She was later instrumental in discovering the impending explosion of the Hobus star in the Devron System and in notifying Starfleet and the Romulan authorities. Her discoveries, however, were initially ignored.
Vanguard Command[]
By 2384 Soleta was already a Captain in rank, but was assigned in Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards as one of the senior officers constructing the starships that would comprise the Vanguard Fleet.
As of 2385, she held the rank of Captain and was the Commanding Officer of the Vesta-class Command Cruiser USS Kitty Hawk.
Soleta also held the designation of Fleet Captain of the Wolf Pack of Task Force Regent, which included five Steamrunner-class Heavy Frigates under her operational command.
Soleta's ship and the Wolf Pack were all under the flag command of Rear Admiral Mackenzie Calhoun, Fleet Commander of Task Force Regent and Sector Commander of Berengaria Command.
Berengaria Command was a field division of Vanguard Command operating in the Alpha Quadrant near the borders of the Breen Confederacy, while Task Force Regent was one of seven task forces comprising the Vanguard Fleet.
