The Omega universe is an alternate universe which diverted in 2157.

Following his ejection from office V'Las formed a group called the Neo-Surakites, claiming he followed the true teachings of Surak. His group eventually went to war against the Vulcan government. The war led to the destruction of Vulcan, turning the Vulcan race into refugees taken in by Earth. Eventually, relations between Earth, its allies and the Klingon Empire exploded into a war which eventually devastated the empire.
