An Imperial Starfleet Officer is the primary combat soldier and Scientific exploratory unit of the Imperial Federation of United Worlds. While in most militaries and within current Prime Universe Starfleet the ranking of Officer is a general term of a commanding unit over either a unit or division.

However, within Imperial military and science fleet terms an Officer is just an active duty crewmember that has equal footing and duty within ships and exploratory mission services, to that extent, the term of "enlisted" doesn't seem to exist. However, delegation and mid-management of most or all of the chain of command and division of crew duties are commanded and enforced by hierarchical rank (Lieutenant, Commander, etc.).

Training[]

All Imperial Starfleet Officers receive a mandatory 7 years of military training at Imperial Starfleet Academy and are trained in several military and scientific disciplines such as:

  • Hand-to-hand combat techniques
  • Phaser marksmanship
  • Heavy munitions
  • Special & Black military operations.
  • Ships tactical systems
  • Astrometrics
  • Basic & Special Sciences
  • Biology (Human & Known Alien)
  • Astrophysics
  • Exo & Crypto-Genetics
  • Exo & Crypto-biology
  • Exo & Crypto-zoology
  • Exo & Crypto-archeology and anthropology
  • Quantum, Particle, and Astrophysics
All Imperial Starfleet cadets begin training at the age of 12 years and finish by the age of 18 years

Rank Classes[]

All Imperial Officers are subdivided into several Classes and Sub-Classes of rank/function they are:

  • Imperial Basic Officer (Prime Universe Equivalent: From Ensign to Basic Infantry)
  • Imperial Medical Officer (Prime Universe Equivalent: nearly any medical rank from nurse to surgeon)
  • Imperial Sciences Officer (Prime Universe Equivalent: nearly any form of Science or Research officer)
  • Imperial Tactical Officer (Prime Universe Equivalent: From Special Security to Heavy Infantry)
  • Imperial Command Officer (Prime Universe Equivalent: From High to Fleet Captain)
  • Imperial High Officer (Prime Universe Equivalent: From Admiral to Commodore)

It should be noted that there is a difference between the ranks of Master Chief and Sergeant. The ranking of Chief is within standard Imperial Starfleet positions, as this is a regimental command rank within classical naval ranking. While Master Sergeant is reserved for division command on land based Imperial Marine Deployment.

Duty Uniforms[]

All Imperial Officers are required to wear either a special cloth or Heavy combat holo based Duty Uniform for reasons of both Practicality and appearance.

However, a modicum of freedom is given to some (mostly female) service attire due to shared and integrated views with Orion Female and Kzin societal norms of wearing form fitting and revealing uniforms to either manipulate or influence more socially backward or misogynist patriarchal based societies.

All Imperial Uniforms are required to be low yield weapons fire (minimum) resistant (termed as "Stun proof"), fireproof, Waterproof, and regardless of societal relaxations in more extreme conditions all uniforms are specially insulated in all atmospheric conditions, keeping its wearer warm in colder climates and cooler in warm climates.

And obviously in such conditions and if their Life support belt is malfunctioning or cannot cope with the external extremes full conservative weather or exo condition gear must be worn.

Women's or feminine uniforms consist of 3 parts:

  • A short Bolero style Over jacket which is lined with multiple layers of micro Isoliner based specialized communications and sensory equipment which improves the wearer's scientific survey capabilities more than a Prime universe Starfleet Officer equipped with a standard issue Tricorder.
  • A one piece low cut sleeveless bodysuit known as an Under uniform. Both men's base and women's under uniforms are built to be highly resistant to moderate levels of physical external stress (as indicated above) and seen as fashionable wear.
  • Finally specialized service boots which for both male and female uniforms are knee-high with practical knee pads and all terrain heat-resistant soles with various styles of casual heeled formal shoes for women.

These are several visual examples of several types of uniforms:

Service badge & Historical discrepancy[]

Starfleet DIS ADM

Starfleet admiralty badge (c2250s)

The Service badge design-wise has remained fairly the same throughout Imperial Starfleet history of either a basic Starfleet chevron or bar-decorated comm badge encircled with either the laurels or backed with the Starfield and laurel of the Federation (as is seen in the lower infobox image). However, due to recent historical cross-referencing, an interesting discrepancy arose within the research and cataloging of interdimensional Starfleet heraldry in the mid 2400s.

Starfleet admiralty badges of the 2250s were seen to be remarkably similar to Imperial badges and insignia. While at first, historians simply surmised that the badge design was probably in the databanks of the USS Enterprise-C when it intervened in the founding of Imperial Starfleet nearly a century earlier.

They later discovered that many uniform styles were not in their historical records either due to some being worn on classified missions, some generally being forgotten, or some simply not put into historical records of the ship as they were seen as either not relevant to current missions or overall crew purpose.

How Imperial Starfleet coincidentally made a similar design was possibly just that, a sheer coincidence, a minor way for the Enterprise-C crew to honor the Federation by having it be the representative insignia of another alternate reality or some other unseen reason which current historians have yet to surmise.
