Mortal Danger

During her adventures, Troi was exposed to mortal danger on more than one occasion. In 2364, she came in contact with the malignant entity known as Armus: though she survived, some of her companions were not so fortunate. In 2365, she was impregnated by an alien entity: some time later she was kidnapped by Ferengi. Later she temporarily lost her empathic abilities when encountered a two-dimensional entity. In 2368, she was possessed by the spirit of Bryce Shumar, captain of the USS Essex. In 2369, she was captured and surgically altered to appear Romulan.

In 2373, when the USS Enterprise-E went back in time to ensure First Contact happened as planned, she met Zefram Cochrane and became heavily inebriated in order to discover needful information. In 2379, on her final voyage with the Enterprise, she was the victim of a "telepathic violation" by Shinzon.

Greatest Danger

In 2402, she volunteered to undertake counseling of Edward Shield, whom her superiors viewed as mentally unstable. He initially refused to open up to her, and when Admiral Picard told her that Shield was a security risk to the Federation and had to be probed, she attempted something never before done. With the aid of Tuvok, a Vulcan who served aboard the USS Titan, she was able to open Shield's mind to her empathic senses. But this was highly dangerous, since it released the rage virus into Shield's frontal lobe, giving it full control over him. Due to her proximity, she also was infected and was mutated by the rage virus.

Fortunately, an immortal named Landru was able to restore both her and Shield to their proper physical and mental state.
