Ceri Powell was a Human Starfleet officer who served as ship's counselor.

Professional LifeEdit

Powell entered Starfleet Academy in 2353 and, upon his graduation in 2357, continued to the Medical Academy. After completing his degree in 2361, Powell was assigned to Starbase 235. By all accounts, he performed competently as a counselor in the starbase's medical facilities, but by 2367 he longed for a change of scenery and sought a place on a starship.

Soon he was assigned to the newly commissioned USS Pioneer. After some personality clashes with his new shipmates, most notably Chief Medical Officer Robert Dalton and pilot Adriana Watley, he settled in as an important, if somewhat aloof, member of the crew.

Powell and Dalton initially shared an adversarial relationship, and though they would never be close, eventually they gained mutual respect for each other. Powell was known to have a professional interest in telepathy and telepathic species and encouraged Watley to explore her empathic and telepathic abilities. Not long after the launch of the Pioneer, they began training together to strengthen her skills. Powell also formed a friendship with Justine Usman early on.
