The Cardassians are a humanoid species from the Alpha Quadrant. Their home planet is Cardassia Prime, which also serves as capital world for the Cardassian Union. The Cardassians joined the Dominion in 2373, proving to be a powerful force against the Federation as well as the Klingons and Romulans.
